So how do you return something to H&M after 30 days? The H&M return policy says that you can get an exchange after 30 days.

You can not get a store credit or get your money back. This is true whether you buy something in a store or online.

So, you’ll have to go to a real life H&M store to finish the transaction. The best thing to do is to look for an item online that you want to exchange and then go to H&M in person.

The only catch is that the replacement must have the same or more value than the original.

Returns Of Store Purchases

Return & Refund For Klarna

If you bought something with Pay later and want to return it, you can first report the return on your account page. To report a return go to H&M x Klarna Purchases. Klarna will hold your bill until they process your return and then they will send you a new bill.

Klarna will directly inform you about the method of payment for your refund.

Once your return is processed Klarna will send you an email with your new Pay later balance. This will include any instructions about how to pay your bill if you still owe money.

Klarna will send you an email if they need your bank information to pay you back.

Free In-store Return Or Exchange

At any H&M store in the US, except Puerto Rico, you can always return or exchange items for free. You have 30 days to decide whether or not to buy something.

With a receipt and within 30 days of purchase, you can return or exchange clothes, swimwear (provided that it has a hygienic seal), as well as unopened beauty products.

Items bought online from H&M HOME cannot be returned in our stores; they can only be returned by mail. We will send the money back to the way it was paid. Please give your transaction up to 14 days to go through.

Please bring the e-receipt or Order Form, as well as the item(s) you wish to return or exchange, to the store where you made the purchase within 30 days, following the shipping confirmation email.

After 30 days, you will only be able to exchange the item at the price it is selling for at that time. Items that are traded must have the same or more value.

Your refund will go back to the way you paid for the order, such as the credit card you used. Costs for shipping and handling cannot be refunded.

Please note that you cannot return H&M HOME items purchased online, or items that were damaged, missing, or sent incorrectly in our stores. You must send them back by mail.

We can only accept returns of Beauty items that customers haven’t opened, for hygiene and safety reasons.

Retailers do not accept returns for underwear due to hygiene reasons. Similarly, swimwear cannot be returned if the hygiene seal has been broken or is missing. Customers cannot return fabric face masks because it is unsafe or unhygienic to do so.

There may be a different return policy for special collections and designer collaborations than for our standard return policy, which you can find above.

H&m Gift Cards

If you paid with a physical H&M Gift Card or an H&M eGift Card, all refunds will be sent to the email address on file as a new H&M eGift Card with a new balance.

If you paid with an H&M Gift Card and another method your payment will first be refunded until the amount paid with the other method has been refunded in full. After that, you’ll get an H&M e-Gift Card for the rest of the money.

For example, you put in an order for $100 and paid for it with a credit card and an H&M gift card. You decide to send back things worth $80.

We’ll put $75 back on the credit card that was used to buy the item, and the other $5 will go on an H&M e-Gift Card.

Return With Usps ($5.99)

Use the self adhesive return label that came with your package to send items back through USPS. This label has been paid for and addressed already.

The $5.99 cost of shipping back the item will be taken out of your refund. If you are an H&M Loyalty Member, you won’t have to pay to ship your items back.

Bringing back items from more than one package: Items that were sent separately can be sent back in one package as long as the correct return forms are included.

If you used the pre paid return label or lost the Return Form please contact Customer Service. Here is also where you can print a new Return Form.

We recommend that you use a carrier that allows tracking, such as USPS, UPS, or FedEx, to send all returns if you do not wish to use the prepaid return label.

Keep the Return Tracking Number from the package you are sending back to make sure it has arrived at our warehouse.

Furthermore, H&M does not accept C.O.D. deliveries and disclaims responsibility for packages labeled by entities other than H&M.

Your refund will go back to the way you paid for the order, such as the credit card you used. Costs for shipping and handling cannot be refunded.

When your goods have been shipped, you will get a confirmation email. Give the credit up to two weeks to show up on your account. Please give your credit card statement up to two billing cycles to show the credit.

Please note that if you don’t have a receipt, you can only exchange the item in-store at the price it’s going for right now. Items that are traded must have the same or more value.

You can’t swap things out online. If you want an item in a different color or size, just send it back and place a new order on hm.com.

Return Instructions:

1. Write the code on the return form that best explains why you are returning the item.

2. Remove the Return Form from its packaging and place it in a suitable bag or box, such as the one your package came in, together with the item(s) you wish to return.

3. Attach the self adhesive return label that was provided with your order then deliver the package to any USPS Mailbox or Post Office of your choosing.

Paypal:

We will refund the difference to your PayPal account if you made your payment through PayPal.

Digital Returns

Return & Refund For Klarna

Returns With Original Receipts

With a receipt and within 30 days of the purchase date, we’ll exchange or refund clothing, swimwear (with a hygienic seal), and unopened beauty products.

We’ll use the same payment method as the original purchase. After 30 days, you can only exchange the item.

Please note that you can’t return fabric face masks because they are unsafe and dirty.

Underwear can’t be returned because it’s bad for your health. If the hygienic seal is missing or broken, we can’t give refunds on swimwear.

We can only accept returns of Beauty items that customers haven’t opened, due to hygiene and safety reasons.

You must return all items in the same condition that we sold them to you.

If you return a designer item purchased from one of our stores within 7 days, and provide the original receipt, you will receive a full refund, provided that you have not worn, washed, or damaged the item.

If you want to exchange something after 7 days or don’t have the receipt, you can only do so at the last activity/sale price or the current price, whichever is lower.

You can return purchases made in US stores to any other US store, except Puerto Rico. You can’t return things you bought in Puerto Rico to stores outside of Puerto Rico. In these situations, only even trades will be made.

Returns With No Receipts

The store can only exchange merchandise without a receipt at either the lowest of the last Activity/Sale price or the current selling price.
