  Wayfair Return Policy – If you need to return something you bought from Wayfair for any reason, you should review their returns policy first because Wayfair’s return policy can change at any time.

I can use the information below to familiarize myself with Wayfair’s return policy, in case I am not already aware of it.

Wayfair Inc. is an American online store that sells furniture and other home goods. It is based in Boston, Massachusetts. Started in 2002 and used to be called CSN Stores. It now has 14 million items from more than 11,000 global suppliers.

Wayfair’s return policy is simple and easy to understand. If you are unhappy with the product(s), you can quickly return it(them) within 30 days of delivery and get a refund in your bank account or as store credit.

Most items can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Item(s) must be:

  • In its original, undamaged condition
  • Disassembled, if the item(s) were originally delivered disassembled
  • In its original packaging. If you cannot ship back the original box due to excessive damage, you must utilize a box that is either of the same size or has a maximum length of 108 inches.

There are a few items that can’t be returned:

  • Open Box / Clearance items
  • Gift cards
  • Personalized items
  • Bundled items at discounted rates, e.g. “5 for $25” (unless the entire bundle is returned)
  • Items marked “Non-Returnable” on the sale page
  • Live Plants
  • Swatches

We will not refund any shipping or service fees paid for the order. Among these are:

  • $4.99 shipping charge for orders under $35
  • Upgraded shipping charges (expedited, express, room of choice, etc.)
  • Assembly services included with delivery

Wayfair does not price match.

The following products or special-occasion purchases have different return policies.

Mattress Return Policy

Every mattress comes with a free trial period of 100 nights. If you don’t fall in love with it within 100 nights, you can return it for free or trade it for another one. You can only return or exchange an item once per order.

This doesn’t include Mattress Toppers, Crib Mattresses, Air Mattresses, or Mattresses that aren’t in a box.

Large Appliance Return Policy

Customers can return large appliances within 30 days of delivery, provided that they have not set them up and the appliances are still in their original packaging. In rare cases, you might have to pay a restocking fee to the manufacturer.

When the appliance arrives, please check the following twice before putting it to use:

1) Scan the box for damage.

2) Make sure the product name and model number match your order confirmation.

3) Remove the packaging and inspect the appliance.

Don’t accept the delivery if you get the wrong thing or it’s broken. Tell your delivery person(s) and get in touch with us so that we can set up a replacement. Once you’ve set up the appliance, you can’t take it back.

Wedding Registry Return Policy

You can return registry items for free and get store credit up to 90 days after the event. To start a return, call a Registry Specialist and tell them the product’s name or the registry order number (which you can find in Gift Tracker), along with the reason for the return. This rule covers only purchases made by guests.

Extended Holiday Return Policy

For things you bought between November 1 and December 31, you now have until January 31 to return them.

Is my item eligible for return?

Most items can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Item(s) must be:

  • In its original state, without any damage.
  • If the delivery was in a disassembled state, you would have to return the item(s) in the same manner.

  • In its original packaging. If you cannot return the original box due to excessive damage, you must utilize a box that is of equal size or shorter than 108 inches.

How do I return my item(s)?

Returns are seamless and easy! Depending on how your item arrived the process to return will vary slightly.

If your item was delivered via UPS or FedEx you can complete your return online.

  • To start your return go to the section of your My Account called “My Orders.”
  • Find the return option for the item you want to send back and click on it. Fill out the online form choosing how you want to return the item and get your money back.
  • Check your inbox for an email that says your return was accepted and has a shipping label.
  • Print the shipping label you got in the return confirmation email and dropped off the package nearby. If you can not bring your item to a FedEx drop off location, you can call a service agent to set up a FedEx pickup.
  • We’ll start your refund when we get your items back at our Returns Centers. Please read our Refund Policy to learn more about when we will give refunds.

If your purchase was a large, heavy, or fragile item(s) delivered via special carrier, you can complete your return online:

  • To start your return, go to the section of your My Account called “My Orders.”
  • Find the return option for the item you want to send back and click on it. Fill out the online form, choosing how you want to return the item and get your money back.
  • Check your inbox to see if you have a return email.
  • We’ll arrange to pick up the item in the afternoon when you’re at home.
  • We’ll start your refund when we get your items back at our Returns Centers. Please read our Refund Policy to learn more about when we will give refunds.

At this time we can not take back items that are longer than 108 inches or weigh more than 150 pounds.

Please return to the store where you bought the item with your receipt and original packaging.

Will I have to pay for return shipping fees?

The cost of return shipping, which can vary widely depending on the item’s original location and the chosen return method, may reduce the refund.

Can I cancel my return if I change my mind?

You can cancel your return request by going to your My Account page and clicking “My Orders.” You must cancel your return request before bringing the item back having it picked up or dropping it off.

Changed your mind and want to exchange an item?

We are happy to help you exchange an item for a different colour, size or an entirely different product.

We do not have an exchange program but you can send your item back for a refund and buy something else that fits your needs. Please do what we say above and read our Refund Policy and Return Policy for more information.

Wayfair Return Exceptions

You can place a return for almost all of their products except:

  • Clearance items
  • Gift cards
  • Personalized items
  • Bundled items at discounted rates eg: 10 for $50, though you can return the entire bundle
  • Items that you have already assembled
  • Items marked – “Non Returnable

Damaged or Defective Items

We know how frustrating a damaged or defective item can be.

Damaged Or Defective Item Policy

If you want us to fix a problem with a damaged or broken item you must let us know within 30 days of delivery. When your order is wrong we have several ways to fix it.

We may ask you to provide a photo and return the original item to ensure that your order is perfect. If we instruct you to return the original item and it fails to arrive at our Returns Center, we reserve the right to either cancel the refund or charge you for a replacement unit.

We have the right to refuse to fix or replace any damaged or broken item reported more than 30 days after delivery. To get started go to My Orders.

Wayfair will cover the shipping costs for any items that are broken or don’t work. You can choose one of the following –

  • Replacement of parts
  • A replacement item
  • A refund

How will my return be refunded?

When you return an item, you can choose to get your money back as a store credit (which never expires!) or back to the way you paid for it in the first place.

When will I receive my refund?

Timing of your refund is dependent on your refund method.

Store credit and gift cards: We will credit your account within one business day after we receive confirmation that you have returned the item in-store or at our Returns Center.

Credit Card: We will initiate your refund once you send back the item to our Returns Center or bring it back to a store.Your refund should appear in your account 5 to 7 days after the carrier drops off or picks up the item, but it could take up to 2 weeks.

Every other way: Please give us up to two weeks to process your return and give you your money back. For cash purchases, you may get a check from the company.

If your returned item doesn’t get to our Returns Center we may have to take back the money.

Will my delivery ship fees or services be refunded?

Any delivery ship fees or service charges collected on the order will not be refunded. This includes:

  • $4.99 shipping charge for orders under $35
  • Upgraded shipping charges (expedited, express, room of choice, etc.)
  • Assembly services included with delivery.

Can I change my refund method?

Yes, you can change your refund method before you have returned the item(s) by going to My Orders.
