Smart Home Technology: You can exchange or return intelligent home thermostats, smart security and safety products, and smart doorbells, among other things, within 30 days of buying them.

Baby, Toddler and Maternity

Clothing: You can exchange or return baby, toddler, and maternity clothes that are new, unused, and have all their tags within 90 days of purchase.

Car seats and strollers: You can exchange or return car seats and strollers that are new and unused and still have their original packaging, warranty, and registration information.

Breast Pumps: You can exchange or return breast pumps within 90 days if you haven’t used them, haven’t opened them, and they are still in their original, sealed packaging.

Seating and activity items: You can return or exchange pack ‘n plays, swings, high chairs, bouncers, baby seats, and walkers/entertainers within 90 days, provided that they are in new, unused condition and have all their original packaging.

We may limit or refuse returns based on the fact that we use a third-party refund verification system. We use this system to protect against unauthorized or incorrect returns.

Misplaced Your Receipt?

We could help! If you bought something within the last year, we’d try to find a record of it by using the original credit/debit card, checking account, or number from a registry, online order, or gift card.

If we can’t find your receipt, you may still be able to return or exchange new, unopened items, even if you still need a receipt.

We will refund these items in the form of a Merchandise Credit for the current selling price minus 20%, and they are eligible for exchange. (we assume customers make the most of our famous blue coupons).

When we give you a Merchandise Credit, we will ask you to show us a photo I.D.* from the government. With a receipt, you can return opened or used items.

Gift Receipt or Gift Registry Returns

Wedding Registry: You can return or exchange items purchased through a wedding registry for a Merchandise Credit within one year from the purchase date.

Baby Registry: New, unopened items on a baby registry can be exchanged or returned for a Merchandise Credit within a year of purchase. The return policy applies to items that someone has used.

Returns for Store Pickup

You can take items from your Store Pickup order back to any store if you have your “Ready for Pickup” email as proof. You can’t return Store Pickup orders online; you must bring them back to the store.

With an Instacart receipt, you can return or exchange purchases within 90 days (with some exceptions). We’ll give you a store credit instead of a cash refund, and you’ll need to show us a government-issued photo I.D.*.

Truck Delivery

Oversized and Large Items: Items sent by truck can be returned within 30 days for any reason as long as they are in the same condition and packaging as when they were sent (excludes monogrammed, personalized, custom-made, and special-order items without manufacturer defect). We’ll get our carrier to call you to set up a time to pick up your return.
