The Kohl’s Return Policy lets you return most items bought in-store or on Kohls.com up to 180 days after the original purchase date, with or without a receipt. The following items, however, cannot be returned without a valid Kohl’s receipt or account look-up.

You have 30 days to return even these electronic items. For an easy return, you would need the original box and a valid receipt. The goods would be taken back even if they were worn. After all, the policy is “No questions asked.”

When you return something you bought on Kohls.com, you don’t get your shipping costs back. Only the amount that was paid for the item will be refunded. You won’t get back any money you paid for shipping on your order.

By mail, you can only send back things you bought on Kohls.com. Any item bought at a Kohl’s store can be returned to any other Kohl’s store.

Return in Store

Bringing your items to your local Kohl’s store is the quickest and easiest way to return them and get a refund. Our Hassle-Free Return Policy makes it easy to return or exchange most items up to 180 days after you bought them. Details can be found in the Return Policy.

If you return something to a store near you, you won’t have to pay for shipping, which you might have to do if you send it back in the mail. If you want to return something, you should bring the item and the shipping bill that came with it. You can find a store near you by using the Store Locator.

When you return any electronic device, including a smartwatch, be sure to erase any personal data and information you may have saved on it.

Return by Mail

To send back your Kohls.com order by mail, you must find the Return Form that came with your order and fill it out. The next step is to put the items in a strong box. Once the package has been sent back to the return center, it could take up to 30 days to process a return sent by mail.

Kohl’s doesn’t give out return labels. To return something, you’ll need to send it to the following address, along with all of its tags:

When you send something back through the mail, you have to pay for the postage to send it back. We are unable to provide a prepaid return label. Please go to your local Kohl’s store to get a refund. This will save you any possible return costs.

At the moment, Kohl’s can’t take mail-in exchanges. You can exchange an item at a store near you if you need it in a different size or color.

Returning items delivered by freight

We apologize! Large items that were delivered by freight can’t be returned at Kohl’s stores.

To return freight items:

  • Follow the directions on the stop sign printed near the bottom of your packing slip.
  • Shipping costs and surcharges will not be refunded.
  • A 15% restocking fee will be charged, however, items returned because they are defective will not incur a restocking fee.

Kohl’s Cash® Impact on Returns

Using Kohl’s Cash® is a great way to get the everyday things you and your family need while getting Kohl’s Cash® to use later on the things you want. If you get Kohl’s Cash® and use it, it may change the amount of money we give you back.

Returns When Kohl’s Cash® is Earned

Usually, you get $10 in Kohl’s Cash® for every $50 you spend on merchandise. If you are returning something for which you received Kohl’s Cash®, your coupon amount may change. If the amount of your return takes you below the amount needed to get Kohl’s Cash®, that amount will be taken away from your Kohl’s Cash® coupon.

When a Kohl’s Cash®-earning return is made, the original purchase amount is changed to reflect the return. The Kohl’s Cash® amount will be figured out based on this new purchase amount, which could mean that the Kohl’s Cash® you earn less.

Returns When Kohl’s Cash® is Earned & Redeemed

When making a return, your Kohl’s Cash® balance will be lowered. The Kohl’s Cash® coupon may have been spent on different purchase. If Kohl’s Cash® is decreased after a coupon has been redeemed, the refund amount will be adjusted accordingly. You will receive a partial reimbursement based on the quantity of unused Kohl’s Cash® you returned.

Returning Items Purchased with Kohl’s Cash®

You get Kohl’s Cash® based on what you buy. When you return an item that you purchased with Kohl’s Cash®, that Kohl’s Cash® will be returned to you. You worked hard to get this coupon, and we wouldn’t take it away.

If the original Kohl’s Cash® coupon is still good, the value will be returned to the actual coupon. If your original Kohl’s Cash® coupon is no longer suitable, you will get your Kohl’s Cash® back in a new voucher.

Return Exceptions

Premium electronics and watches must be returned in their original packaging with a valid receipt or account/tender lookup within 30 days of purchase.

Purchases of beauty products, like those made at Sephora Kohl’s or Wellness Market, must be new or barely used and returned within 60 days of the purchase date with a valid receipt or account/tender lookup.

Items bought in a store must be returned to the store. We can’t take mail-in returns for items purchased in-store. Stop by the Customer Service desk for help.

Unable to Find the in-Store Receipt?

Our stores might be able to help you find the original purchase so that you can get your money back. Even if we can’t find your purchase, you can still send it back as a “non-receipt return.”

You will get a Kohl’s Merchandise Credit for the item(s) you are returning based on the lowest discounted 13-week sale price for the item(s). There may be more work to be done. Please have a valid ID ready just in case we ask for it.

Kohls Holiday Return Policy
