The current CEO of City Barbeque, Rick Malir, started the chain in 1999 in Columbus, Ohio.
City Barbeque owns 46 restaurants in six states. Its main office is in Dublin, Ohio. Rick Malir grew up on a farm in a rural part of Kansas.
When he was in college at Kansas State University, someone showed him how to make barbeque.
City Barbeque serves beef brisket, pulled pork, turkey breast, pulled chicken with ‘Bama sauce, smoked sausage, bone-in chicken, and St. Louis-cut ribs. On the menu, there are also salads, samplers, peach cobbler, banana pudding, and triple chocolate cake for dessert.
